Black farmers hardest hit by farm strikes

Since the beginning of November, unprotected farm strikes have erupted across the Western Cape. Workers demand that their wages be increased from R69 to R150 per day. The strikes were suspended in December for wage negotiations and resumed on 9 January as those deadlocked. So far, black farmers are hit hardest by the protest.  read more
